Spiral Dance: Remembered Unforgotten was commissioned by the Chris D.C. Ramos Dance Company and has been performed numerous times by that company. The work is a requiem for a close teacher and mentor of the choreographer, Chris D.C. Ramos. The title refers to the gradual spiraling of the dance of life and the way in which human relationships grow, change, return, and grow again. The music is a series of variations which culminate in a quiet, single line in the upper register of the cello which fades away as the dancer can be seen "floating" in a dimming circle of light, making the final spiral into the next life.
